Emily Barber

My name is Emily, and I am delighted to be one of the Non-Executive Directors for Mental Health, for NEW. I currently work as a Family Therapist/Systemic Psychotherapist for the NHS, working with adults and their families experiencing mental health difficulties, within the Sunderland area. I am also a qualified Occupational Therapist, and have recently started a Level 3 Certificate in Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches. I am passionate about the outdoors and the wealth of wellbeing opportunities that being outdoors can offer, and I am really keen to support NEW as they further develop their wellbeing programmes.
Bryony Bainbridge

Bryony's passion for working in the outdoors was kindled through her position as Therapeutic Horticulturalist at Ouseburn Farm, Newcastle. She has since qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and is a freelance gardener , photographer , musician and creative practitioner. Working therapeutically in each of her areas of expertise has formed an in depth, creative and holistic approach to Forest school allowing her to inspire confidence, encourage independence and foster resilience.

Emma Cockburn
Director, Practitioner
Emma loves all things nature and outdoors, getting out whenever possible. Having led Bikeability sessions, run bike maintenance courses and forest schools for years she now works supporting unpaid adult carers. Emma has a passion for facilitating individuals and groups to get to where they want to go. She is currently studying to become a psychotherapist.
Sally Cowling
Director
Sally has spent her whole career working in Marketing for a variety of businesses including Jaguar Cars and Port of Tyne. She is the Co-Founder of People & Brand agency, Beyond Partners which works with clients who want to create happy people to build a brilliant brand. She is also Vice Chair and Trustee at Children’s Cancer North. Sally is an expert at helping organisations focus on their strategy and with her wealth of experience will be able to share her knowledge as North East Wilds grows. She is passionate about ‘giving back’ and is excited to be part of an organisation which is having a positive impact on individuals and our community.
